Ingredients for Amla Chutney
5-6 fresh amla
1 small bunch of coriander leaves
2-3 green chilies
6-7 garlic cloves
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1/2 teaspoon black salt
Common salt to taste
A little water
1 teaspoon lemon juice
Method of Preparation
First, wash the amla and lightly boil it so that the seeds can be easily removed. Cool the boiled amlas and remove the pits. Place the amlas, coriander, green chilies, garlic, and cumin seeds in a mixer jar. Add salt and black salt to taste. Add a little water and grind to a fine paste.
If desired, add lemon juice for a slight tang. Transfer the chutney to a bowl and serve with parathas, khichdi, rice, or snacks. Amla chutney can be easily stored in the refrigerator for 3–4 days and makes a delicious addition to any meal.
